Our Pastor

Rev. Dora Russell Dorsey

Rev. Dorsey is an ordained elder of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.  She was ordained deacon in 1998, took her first pastorate in 1999, and became an elder in 2002.

Rev. Dorsey loves to preach, teach the word of God, and uses visuals to make worship fresh.  Her passion is working with young people, senior citizens, and prayer ministries.

Rev. Dorsey comes to New Hope from Philadelphia UMC of Rockingham, where she started a Wednesday Noon Day Bible Study geared toward senior citizens and a pastoral prayer team.

Rev. Dorsey is a native of rural Warren County, NC.  Though Rev. Dorsey is a new face in the Rowland Community, she has been in the Rockingham District of the UMC for 9 years.  She serves on the Board of the RDPIM and the district Committee on Ordained Ministry.

“I am excited about joining the ministry at New Hope and look forward to becoming an active member of the Rowland Community,” says Rev. Dorsey.
